What if you were taken out of your home and held for ransom, and you couldn’t come up with the money yourself but had to rely on others to help you out. Would someone come to your aid? Would someone lay it all on the line for you, to buy your freedom so you could go free? You are on a time limit and its life or death.
We are all going to die sometime, if not today, then on some tomorrow. Death itself is holding us ransom for a later time in the future. You know Jesus paid it all on Calvary. He paid your sin bill so you wouldn’t have to die eternally. All you have to do is turn your life over to him. No matter what comes our way we know the lord is our Shepard.
Psa 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
If the Lord is our Shepard even if we are held for ransom, we have a assurance that he is with us no matter what. If they pull the trigger, or if they don’t pull the trigger, we belong to the lord. And he sees our needs, and he knows the path that I take. And he will take care of you and I, even when its life or death.
Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
There is a payday at the end of the road, when I walk up the streets of pure gold, there will be a crown to wear beyond compare, I’ll put on a long white robe, there will be a payday at the end of life’s road.
