A man from Toledo, Ohio, is thankful to be alive after in his own words “cheated death” the van was reportedly zooming around 100 miles an hour according to reports. He and his pregnant girl friend were rocked by what felt like a atom bomb going off outside.
“I thought the motel room exploded,” he said. “[The crash] threw me back. Everything pushed forward my way: the dressers, the tables, the air conditioner.”
The impact of the blow was so fierce that it knock him and his pregnant wife to the floor inside the hotel. A wall of the hotel room had to be removed before they could go free.
Driving the van was a 32-year-old man named Thomas Wallace from Temperance, Mich, who lost control of the van after running a red light going 100 miles an hour.
Miraculously no one was killed in the accident.
